I Bought this kit about 18 months ago, and have not been impressed. Adjusting the blades is fairly simple, but not something you should plan on having to do with a brand like Wahl on a new in box product. They arrived misaligned by about 1/16 -- amazing when you consider the entire blade is only about 3/16 long.

Blades are physically similar to those on my 20 year old $20 wahl from the drugstore near campus. -- the blade-guards are good quality and can be used interchangeably with the old model I ended up scavenging this kit for parts to upgrade my old model and the blade-guards were the biggest win. Strangely enough, it didn't come with the ear taper guards... something I would have said was essential for me at 20 when I started buzzing my own hair.

It is markedly quieter than my old model, but the motor is 2/3 the strength (measured by watts consumed) -- Performance wise, it Did fine on my thinning "fine" hair, but it bogged down on my son's thick "coarse" hair, resulting in a motor tone pitch and "pulling" rather than cutting.

That said... It works, and pays for itself in just a few months.

If you don't have Amazon Prime then you can't get free one day shipping unless you pay for it.

I prefer Oster Professional clippers. I got a Oster Titan for $75 on eBay a year ago. Worth every penny. I don't need add ons, since I use blade 00 to shave my head. look around

I use this for my beard. The 1 1/2 attachment is my favorite length. The half step attachments are nice. It works well. I have been so disappointed with other beard trimmers. I would buy this again.

This clipper has a magnetic motor, which is the cheapest type of clipper motor. There's a screw on the side of the clipper which you have to adjust to get the optimum performance. I'm very surprised this type of motor is "their most powerful and durable motor".
