I was really hoping to like the Smartthings hub but the app for iOS keeps logging itself off constantly, to the point where it's pretty much useless if you're using things such as alerts (if you're logged off, you won't get alerts). I looked online for a solution but it seems that the ios logout problem has been a known issue for a while now with promises to have it patched, but it keeps getting worse.

Which one is better - Smartthings, Wink or Vera? Or are they all the same?

I got st from last deal and happy with it currently have linked 4 door sensor and 2 Yale locks it working amazing great. I had same question before I bought st and was planning to go for wink but the one advantage is backup battery in st, but again internet is needed in both so depends.

Wink hub is better in hardware. ST is much better in community support. You will find more devices workig with ST because of that.

With being constantly logged out and the presence sensor not working properly on any of our phones, there is no way I would trust ST right now as my main alarm. Unless you wanted to manually turn it on/off. The automation part of it is very unreliable.

Also, while ST is open source, many official supported "things" are crippled compared to Wink.
