Smallest frame size it comes in is 18". That would be a little big for someone that is 5'5". Frame size of 16"-17" would be better.

You can ride it on dirt if that is what you are asking. It may be OK for fire roads, not sure I'd trust it on technical single track.

Is this a decent quality bike? Looking to upgrade over my wal-mart schwinn now that I'm getting into riding more. I rarely get off paved trails but the schwinn has not taken any abuse very well.

Is the Nishiki bike worth the $300 compared to recent bike deals at that price? All those deals knocked Dick's bicycles. Also for a 6'2" 200lbs, would I get the 22" frame? Thanks in advance

Only thing I can say about buying a cheap mountain bike like this is to make sure you at least get an 8 speed hub. It will allow you to upgrade over time without replacing the rear rim. The one posted has a 7 speed which really limits what you can do and if you try upgrading will cost you more in the long run. Brakes are also throwaway on bikes like this. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.

This bike costs twice as much but it is definitely worth it for what you get: https://airbornebicycles.com/coll...s/guardian

No tax and free shipping as well.

If this is the same quality as the one I bought 6 years ago it's a great town bike and ok for very light trail riding. There was literally a warning on the handlebars not to take it of road. For anything above a light trail ride I would replace the whole front end.

How does his compare to the GT Aggressor deal from Dick's a couple weeks back?

Even 17" might be pushing it a bit. For 5'5, sizes 15.5"-16.5" might be optimal.

Agree that 18" would be a bad idea, even with the seatpost all the way down.
