Oculus Rift is running it's Summer of Rift sale which includes a $100 promo for the Oculus Store with purchase of Oculus Rift + Touch bundles. Amazon states the code for the $100 promo will be emailed after purchase.

VR is an entirely new medium unlike 3D which is just a variation of an already solidified standard (although I very much enjoy 3D on a 100" + pj). People who compare VR to 3D tv are usually the people who have never tried it on a high-end hmd. No one will convince these people until they actually go and try it, but many are just too stubborn and have their mind made up already. Or they can't afford it and have to justify or crap on everyone's parade.
Then of course there are those who gave it a legitimate try, and it's just not for them in it's current state. That's totally fine, but doesn't make VR dead or just a gimmick.

Edit: I just realized I had the other games in my library without knowing it. Must have been added when I activated my Touch. Cool.
Maybe I'm wrong and my litmus test for a good deal on the Oculus Rift is set a bit high already. Or maybe I'm just tired of it still being so expensive.
