Holding off on VR until the second gen but this deal is enticing

Yes VR's fate hinges on compatibility with Xbox Confused.

VR is an entirely new medium unlike 3D which is just a variation of an already solidified standard (although I very much enjoy 3D on a 100" + pj). People who compare VR to 3D tv are usually the people who have never tried it on a high-end hmd. No one will convince these people until they actually go and try it, but many are just too stubborn and have their mind made up already. Or they can't afford it and have to justify or crap on everyone's parade.

Then of course there are those who gave it a legitimate try, and it's just not for them in it's current state. That's totally fine, but doesn't make VR dead or just a gimmick.

Yeah, I'll really lose sleep over buying the most logical/economical choice because some random weirdo on the internet has a problem with it. shake head

Anyone know how long this deal is running for? If it's still up on Friday I might bite.

I'm personally waiting tell the holiday as the Microsoft headsets are intriguing and my space will work better with the whole in side out tracking. If this was 399 though (with no need for the extra 100 in games) then I might just jump on board.

The only game I've heard of in that list is Lucky's Tale, which is pretty good, but it's supposed to be free anyway. Still, like others have said, the summer sale is going on now, and that $100 could easily get you a lot of the system's best games. It's also worth remembering that the Steam summer sale is coming up, and Oculus works on Steam VR (but not the other way around with the Vive and the Oculus Store, which is ultimately why I got the Oculus Rift), so plenty of those games will be on sale as well.

Edit: I just realized I had the other games in my library without knowing it. Must have been added when I activated my Touch. Cool.

This looks to be the regular price/promo they've been running. The six games listed have been coming free with the Oculus at least since I did an in store demo a few weeks ago. The $100 store credit is moderately new, but other than that I don't see that this is all that Slick.

Maybe I'm wrong and my litmus test for a good deal on the Oculus Rift is set a bit high already. Or maybe I'm just tired of it still being so expensive.
