is this one of those you get what you pay for type things? im not sure if its good to cheap out on massage chairs...

Yeah, same here. I have a 10 year old chair that I paid $1500 for (and that was one of the cheapest ones I could find), but it's getting really worn out and the leg massage no longer works. This chair looks like the ones they are charging $5k+ at any of the local stores. I know China makes things cheaper, but that's a hell of a price difference.

When Joe Flacco of the Ravens signed his contract extension he went out and bought 5 of these chairs. He ended up using them two or three times. Then he gave them away to family, friends, and even one to an employee of the team. He claimed it was the worst thing he brought. Every time I see one of these chairs I think of that interview.

I actually just got this exact chair model in the picture a few weeks ago on ebay for $499. It looks like that seller raised it to $599 though, so not sure if that was a temporary deal or the price just went up. Anyway, the chair is decent, but the air bag pipes were broken on arrival for me. The manufacturer quickly shipped a replacement part to me from China, which arrived really fast (like 3 days).

The thing that surprised me the most was how strong the chair's massage stuff is. If you like deep tissue massages you'll probably like it. It's actually a bit too strong for me - I have to turn the foot massage part off otherwise it's just painful after a minute.
