My prior experience shopping for grinding wheels for these types of tools taught me that you'll pay a premium for the finer grit wheels.
I would not say this kind of tool is the most appropriate thing for knives you care much about or want to get a nice edge on.
These are very useful tools to have for just about anyone that builds or fixes their own stuff.
I can't come close to placing enough emphasis on the VERY important safety rule for these grinders to NEVER wear gloves when using them!
I have ground a knuckle or two when I wasn't being careful enough but I would have mangled my whole hand if I had my gloves on and they were snagged by the wheel.
I sincerely hope that tip helps someone because knowing it saved my hand more than once.

Are alternate wheels/material available for this make/model?
Pretty sure they are all compatible as they are just held on by a bolt/nut. If you look at wheels online they all have the same hole in the middle. On my dewalt model I have never had to pay attention to compatability as I'm pretty sure these are all the same setup

Is there a regular schedule to WEN discounting this stuff? I'm still sad I missed out on the disc sander and hoping that deal comes back.
