Since when is running a read light a "minor infraction". I can see having a burned out read light or stop light being minor, But running a red light puts innocent drivers in risk.

Bellevue is the worst! They were giving camera generated tickets to everyone who was doing a right turn on red if (IIRC) they didn't remain fully stationary for 7 full seconds before starting the turn. No one's going to stop for that long a time if there no traffic in that lane and the laws say nothing about how long you have to remain stationary before starting the turn, just that you have to come to a complete stop!

The profit motive. Private companies who provide this technology are more concerned with making money than with public safety.
Washington State elected officials can eat shit for letting companies shitting on people.
