Complete nonsense spending 1400 vs 850 for slightly better performance. What's your thought process here? If someone is spending 850 then they might as well spend 1400? That makes no sense whatsoever

This is a steal, for under $1000 you get entire speaker set. Just the two towers usually is around $800.

Every audio thread deal around here people bash and say to spend more money. It's ridiculous to bash these speakers unless you have a recommendation for something as cheap or cheaper that sound better.

One of the reviews I read was someone who had heard the r28Fs and the RP280Fs and said that the new horn enclosure made a very big difference between them. RP280F being much better.

if it is 30% more it is no brainer to go with premier RP line as these R28F's are old synergy/Icon line rebranded to reference line

If someone has a budget of $850 and want to buy 5.1 system now, it is a 'decent' deal for them

I agree with this .....reference premier sound lot better than these ... wait for bundle at 1399$ and it's worth the price and investment
