Regarding the sound, these are solid but unspectacular. They prioritize bass (because that's what Americans are most likely to complain about) which leaves the highs and mids a bit muddy for my taste. That said, I'm comparing to much higher cost models like Soundlink and JBL Flip. If you need a good economical speaker this one is not going to be beat, just don't go in expecting top tier sound. Mid tier sound I would say.

But just so you know, it will NOT turn off when connected to Dot via bluetooth, that is until it runs out of batteries. At least, that is how my Soundcore behaves.

I've had a ccc alert on this and it fired today. It's been out of stock for a while, so I don't know if that's related to the big price drop, but this is a highly rated speaker. Hook it up to those new Dots you got during Prime Day!

How is the bass for this speaker? Looking for something for a bass head. I know these speakers are not going to be mind blowing but there are some with more bass than others.

I bought this at this same price in November 2016. It is a nice speaker and holds a charge a long time, but like all wireless speakers, you have to recharge it eventually. That all ways seems to happen in the middle of enjoying music. I keep thinking maybe I'll just keep it plugged in all the time. I wonder what that would do to the battery for when you do want to make it portable.

Any aux input to hook into the echo dot? If not, I think it will auto-off when hooked up to Bluetooth.
