For what it's worth, I have purchased a 40 gal breeder tank at $40 during this sale in the past. YMMV is certainly possible.

Yeah they used to do the $1 per gallon all the way through the 55gal tanks. This is the first year I've seen them deviate from that.

Minimum of a quality filter air pump and gravel. Adding a few decorations is the fun part.

So it's not $1 a gallon.

This is like a gas station advertising a $1 gallon gas, only to find out this only works if you're buying gasoline for a minibike.

We had a 29 gallon tank that cracked and leaked all over the place a year or so ago. We decided not to set it back up, however the kids won a jumbo fish at the fair (8-9 inches) so our 10gallon wasn't enough anymore. Fortunately I was able to get in on this deal...$29 + tax and I already owned the accessories.

Depends on what kind of setup you want. Are you going with Freshwater or Saltwater. The cost varies greatly.

Using your example, it seems like you would be upset that the gasoline didn't come with a mini bike. A fish tank is a fish tank- the sale is for fish tanks.
