I find it odd that they don't just integrate the received with the soundbar like all of their competitors. I would much prefer the LG SJ9 deal for $400 that seems to go on sale on ebay every few months.

DIY speakers/sub for even more bang for your buck. But some ppl just want to keep it simple, and there's always the WAF to consider

This is more for people who don't want to run a ton of wires or have wives that don't want speakers all over the place.
I spent barely more than this and have 7.2 in my theater room (hopefully atmos next year), but for those that want better sound without running a ton of wires or speakers this seems like a solid deal

Not that many people willing to drop $1k on a sound bar..

if you do I think Sonos are one of the best.

this wasn't developed by Andrew Jones, he had already left Pioneer and moved on to Elac by the time this was developed. I would pass for this money.

More surprised that it only has 1 review on Amazon. Thing is clearly not popular at all. Not saying it isn't good, but it's certainly surprising to have so many thumbs up on a product nobody actually seems to own.

Would definitely agree this deal is a slick one. If I saw it a couple weeks ago I would've pulled the trigger. I purchased the Samsung MS750 with supporting rear speakers and love it for my small apartment. Once you tweak the settings it really kicks and not having to have a separate subwoofer kicks ass. Soundbars are ideal in smaller spaces where wires and a bunch of speakers won't work. If you go the sound bar route spend a little more and get one with upward firing speakers like this one has. It really does add so much more depth to your listening experience. I know because I started with the Samsung MS360, switched it for the MS550, switched that for the MS650, and finally found my happy place with the (almost atmos) MS750. Best Buy must hate me by now.

So they have the top firing speakers, but no other surround?

I don't think this will do what you would want it to do. What good is Atmos without the rest of the surround setup?

I can't speak for the people thumbing this deal up, but if you guys are insinuating that I'm some part of a private promo group... did you even bother to check my posting history at all? I saw what I thought was a good deal and did my due diligence (and posted a few of the links I looked at) before posting to make sure it wasn't some crappy product. This is regularly priced at $1,000 and is relatively new (came out in the spring of this year).

When the LG SJ-8 came out in the Buydig deal in May, there were virtually no reviews for it anywhere as well and many of us were hesitant to pull the trigger for that reason. However, many of us still bought it and have mostly been satisfied.

My Klipsch soundbar I bought from Woot actually had a "Huppins" shipping label on it. It's worked flawlessly, box was destroyed but that could be a UPS or Merchant thing.
