How curious.
Having tried Spyder jackets, you will sweat and it will trap it inside, unless it' utilizes a different material, such as Goretex, eVent, etc...
5000g is good for sitting stationary, not for active stuff like skiing (unless you don't sweat much).
The low end of waterproofing. Good enough for low intensity activity.

A Web search for spyder fanatic didn't return much info either, except you can get limited sizes and colors at amazon for about the same price. No reviews at amazon, couldn't find it on the spyder website either.
Fwiw, it's a decent jacket, but not on par with their better stuff. Think more along the lines of a north face apex, not an arcteryx

Which will be good for Chicago cold.

HydroWEB has been on their website since their March 2017 blog. It also might not be listed as a 'technology', but viewing the details of individual jackets, they will list it as whether it uses HydroWEB technology or not.
