Within the next few weeks Aldi will have the Ambiano Vacuum Food Sealer [aldi.us] for $29.99. The vacuum sealer should also include:
At the same time they will have the Ambiano Vacuum Food Sealer Rolls in two sizes for $4.99:
The price on the bags is not excellent since generic bags on amazon are about half the price per foot and some recent FoodSaver slickdeals have been lower per foot too.

The first two sucked some vacuum, but the sealing mechanism was never triggered - even with empty bags. This suggested air leaks.
I noticed that the 3rd machine had perfectly flat rubber foam gaskets, while the first two were slightly bent and/or tilted. I recommend to check for this prior to leaving the store.
I immediately used the working sealer to get all my frozen meat and other products freezer-burn-proof. It worked like a charm, and I stocked up on the bag rolls they sell. I hope that it will last me for a while, since it is really practical. Btw, it comes with a 2 year warranty...
PS: I emailed customer service after the 2nd failed on me, assuming that there might be an error in the instructions. They both called and emailed me within 24 hours. Pretty good.
PPS: At Aldi, I just grabbed a new one, showed my receipt to the cashier, and handed over the defective one. Very customer-friendly!
