Diaper recommendations for night, 18mo old boy. His diapers keep leaking

2,049 1,061 November 1, 2017 at 10:56 AM
Getting frustrated, we have 3 girls out of diapers and never had an issue with leaking diapers. With this boy (18mo), we get a leaking diaper at least once a week.

Currently using huggies little movers, we found that they cover the front better than pampers for him.

We tried huggies overnight and they leaked out even worse!

Not sure if its how he is sleeping, but the diaper is fairly dry when he leaks.

I dont want to keep wasting $ and trial and error to find a good diaper for nighttime. he never leaks during the day.

Any recommendations?

we tried the next size up and he still manages to leak.

MLV should be very familiar with diapers, but adult-sized Depends brand. Will that help?

My older cousin told me that she baby sat me and my little brother once, and we both took off our dirty diapers, and smeared crap all over the walls.
She said it traumatized her.

Overnight diapers never worked for our son either but huggies little movers/snugglers always did. Unfortunately you'll have to try a few brands and see what works for you. Also, i'm sure you do this but make sure he's "pointing down" when the diaper goes on... The other thing may be to try a size smaller if you think he's wriggling out of it.

You never know if he is adjusting things and/or opening the leg hole or waist band when things get wet.

We use Target-brand overnights (UP&UP) for our 18 mo. old, and haven't had any leakage. Haven't had any problems with Pampers either. We had some leakage problems with Huggies (newborn-sized), and never really tried them after that.

It's disappointing to hear Huggies aren't that great. Based on watching Raising Arizona, I figured it was the go-to brand. Dontknow

p.s. I do think round is funny

We love target-brand. My daughter is only 15 months but she never leaks at night on the regular #4s.

Huggies and target brand always leaked for our girls.

Luv's seemed to work best for us.
