It's back and cheaper (now $575) or $538 with student discount, buy discount gift cards for to save another ~13%.
This is the new Ryzen quad core APU with integrated vega graphics. For discussion check out the previous thread when it was $600:

This laptop is good for long battery life, lighter weight, pretty good gaming, and amazing multithreaded CPU performance. This is not a hardcore gaming laptop (those will be heavier and have less battery life). Basically, this laptop has the best APU out right now (until the faster ryzen mobile variant is released - 2700U), so its graphics will be better than any intel integrated graphics chip and it will play many(most?) games at 1080P with 30+ framerate. It is also a quad core ryzen processor and therefore will do well in CPU intensive tasks. Finally it is a 15 W chip, so it can fit into a lightweight laptop and have excellent battery life

I got one of these from Bestbuy. Boots slow because of HD but seems to run fairly well. I have attached Geekbench 4 results.

This deal keeps getting better. No need to jump on it now. The price will go lower.

How good is this for photo\video editing? There are so many different graphics cards out and generations of CPU out right now.

Yes, I usually go to giftcardgranny and find the best deal, I didn't include the GC savings in the price as it is YMMV and an extra step

If you don't mind what is epp? Also haven't found out how to apply a student discount.

just go to raise abcgiftcards or giftcardgranny and purchase electronic hp gift cards at a discounted price. Your then chopping off roughly another 10%, and they should send you a virtual code within an hour.

I get the error "CMN3101E The system is unavailable due to "{0}". No dice. Going to see if they will apply the discount since I bought the computer last week at the $600 price.

go to gftcardgranny.com search for HP gift cards(right now up to 15% off, there is an ebay card for 16% off but it looks a little sketchy). Use link to buy gift cards at the discount (buy the bigger denominations that get you to the final price, since some companies limit the amount of GCs that can be applied in a single order) use gift cards to purchase the laptop. Note buying gc's should be fine, but it is an extra step/transaction I take no responsibility if you have any issues
