This is actually a solid shoe...I have the waterproof version and enjoy it.

edit: I use mine for disc golf if that helps anybody. actually has a really good outsole, which is an issue with the wear and tear disc golf puts on shoes.

Watch some of these shoe deals - I bought some boots online for $30 and then found them in store for $24 with a $6 rebate. I thought $30 was a crazy deal, but $24 is even better, so maybe they'll match prices if you go back to customer service.
