$550 retail price watch being sold for $159!!
from an ebay post[ebay.com]
Movado Group watches labelled "Swiss Quartz," do not meet the "Swiss Made" criteria, as they are manufactured in Asia, (probably mostly China) using inexpensive, borderline Swiss movements, usually from Ronda.
I've been wanting one of these for like a basic staple watch. Not something you'd use often but in the right situation the style fits.
Am I insane for thinking this?
I agree. You can't go wrong with this. I own a couple high grade Movados. Great thing about this, they make awesome gifts bc most don't know a ton about watches but they know Movado is expensive. So they won't know one from the other

Better deal than I got when it came with Godiva Chocolates

The watch MSRP is highly marked up and even $159 seems more imho for just a swiss quartz watch. I know some would not agree to that.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

You actually get used to it after a couple weeks. I don't even think about it anymore.
