TCL 65" 4K HDR 120Hz CMI Roku Smart LED TV - Black (65S405)

Looks like the 15% off applies to the 65S405 at Target.com Add in 5% red card and the TV is down to $604 with pick up in store. Not bad for a 65" TV. Looks like 120

Agreed, big mike. Much better color for $50 more.

Anyone look at this may want to check out the Vizio E65-E1 as it's not substantially more, I think TCL has improved quite a bit, but personally I'd rather have a vizio.

I have a Samsung KS8000 and also this TCL...I really can't notice a massive difference between the 2. The Samsung was a $2,000 tv

I have the 55" version of this TCL. It's very good, but there is a big difference between it and my VT60 plasma. The blacks make all the difference. The TCL has a blue tint to the screen. Warm setting doest help, just dims the screen. For $315, I can live with it. Love the Roku.

Hope the TCL 75" on Amazon drops in price over the next month.

Well yea if you compare it to a plasma there is a huge difference. I just replaced a Panasonic 50 inch plasma with this tv and it's a huge upgrade...

My Samsung KS8000 is a really expensive tv I bought last Xmas...and it's brighter...but I'm struggling to say it's a huge leap between this TCL

I watch a lot of sports and movies. Is this a true 120hz native panel?

It is nice having the built-in Roku 4K HDR. Didn't realize it before, but my old Rokus were not 4K HDR. So having it included in the TV is a bit of a savings in itself. Smilie

Bought this 65" at the same price during the 15% TV sale a week or so ago. The set is growing on me, and is definitely good for the money. But I'm at a point in my life where I need to stop being so cheap and buy a real TV, lol.

I have it in a bright family room and while it does better than the reflective glass LG plasma it replaced, it still is not very bright. That would be my biggest gripe/regret. Wish it had a little more brightness. That was probably the biggest knock on it in the rtings reviews. It is still watchable in broad daylight though, but I wonder what another couple hundred $$ could have gotten me.

I got the e65-e1 for Black Friday Sam's club $598 and it does have a fantastic picture. Coming from a plasma I do notice the colors are not as good but it's much brighter and the 4k hdr from Netflix etc is very nice for the price. The corners are dimmer than the rest of the screen which I've read is normal for budget 4k TV's and the Xtreme black engine is useless, 70% of the time the picture does look better than with off but greatly reduces the brightness of highlights and the other 30% of the time it's making the dark areas change birghtness in wierd and unusual ways so I leave it off and deal with the brighter blacks

Hmmm...I have a 55in TCL I got a couple years ago and think it is great for the most part. The UI is very nice, i love not having to mess with inputs and the integrated roku works very well.

My only complain is that there are not many settings for audio/visual.

I also have a older Vizio 3D TV which, while it does have good picture, seems a LOT more clunky in comparison...I HATE navigating the smart features since its slow and the remote is crappy and not very responsive.

Im sure Vizio has improved since then and maybe its worth giving them another shot.

yea that blue tint is showing up in alot of tvs, it's not actually a blue tint.

It's because the Consumer expectation of what WHITE is unnaturally blue. So the manufacturers are like, well if that's what people want.. give it to them.

The uneducated masses don't understand that a Standard Reference white is slightly on the yellow side. nod

You know, the color of that big ball in the sky.. hahahahahaha

In for one. Thanks OP! My target would not ship, so had to pay sales tax, which goes a long way in wiping out the 15% savings. Still a pretty good deal for a nice 65" TV. I didn't want to spend $1500 on a TV and got tired of waiting for TCL to come out with a 65" in the P-series with the dynamic backlight zones.

I think the bottom line is all TVs can have issues. Just the nature of the beast when you ship a huge wafer thin screen that will be scrutinized closely. I've bought the premium brands and I've bought the "off-brands" and in my small sample size of maybe 10 or so TVs, have seen about the same failure / defect rate in both.
