What's the state of Battlefront 2? Has EA made any commitments to not add microtransactions back into the game? Would love to play it, but I don't want to support that garbage progression.

They have stated that they WILL put them back in, even when they took them out. Stay away......

Multiplayer progression is really really bad. I have put in more than 10 hours and yet to upgrade a single weapon. Random cards make it worse. The first one was way better than this. Load times are bad as well.

As mentioned, it was stated that they will eventually add them back - directly from the commentary of their public statement.
I will say that it's worth a rental. I was able to complete the campaign in about 5 hours and racked up about 300 achievement points in the process (Xbox One). Also, playing multiplayer felt EPIC, especially the Death Star map.
It's been reported that players are tying rubber bands to their controllers to accumulate credits. (You earn passive credits for the battle) In turn, they buy boxes and are more powerful. I can attest that while I suck, it felt unfair when you're presented with your killer's item loadout. A LOT of people have maxed out items and rare ones at that. It definitely feels unfair, which is why I suggest the rental.
I would not be surprised if base Destiny 2 went F2P soon. It's going to take a MAJOR expansion pack like The Taken King for Destiny 1 to make that game worth while.
I believe so...it does at least prior to the discounts...i was able to add the code to check out and reduced my cost, however I didn't complete the order so I could save my code for later

Probably shouldn't buy it since they are going to add them back after the new probably

I'd rather rent and keep my money than provide EA that sense of pride and accomplishment.
