Nice looking version of the 940 and a good price. My daily carry for a couple years now has been the 940-1 and I LOVE it. Went through a lot and for me the 940 series is the perfect fit!
The Benchmade 940 is a fantastic knife. Add some cool coloring and inlays, throw in a Super steel and you have this special edition.
Admittedly, you might need to be a knife lover/geek to appreciate the price point.
What makes this such a great knife to me is the weight, slim design, and great blade shape for slicing.
If you want to gift this to someone, you can't go wrong if this is in your/their price range.
Just FYI, Benchmade implemented a strict 15% discount from retail pricing a few years back (was 25%)
The cheapest advertised price allowed for the plain 940 model is $182.75. ($215 retail)
Since this version is a special edition Knife works exclusive, they can set a lower "normal"price of $199 (even though list retail is $260) making the lowest allowable price $169.95. (15% discount)
awesome knife for the money!

Wow. This is the cheapest 940 I have seen, and it comes in a super steel. If I hadn't just purchased a new compression lock spyderco, I would probably buy this. The axis lock and compression lock are about tied in my mind. My mini griptillian drops free and is a ton of fun to fidget with. As an office person who doesn't do food prep with folding knives, I do worry that the 940 blade is a little long, and that the handle wouldn't fill my hand as well as a stocky shorter knife.

The Going Gear exclusive is 20CV as well. That version is better looking IMO, however it is $240 and out of stock (don't know if they are getting more)
I've retired my Osbourne 940. Had the blade replaced to new and now it sits among all my other knives, untouched. The 940 Is an absolute perfect knife for me.
My wife thanks you guys for buying them all up - I certainly didn't need another knife, but damn it, I would have bought one more. That is one of the sexiest I've seen in a while. Totally bummed i missed out!

Harder to sharpen , but should stay sharp longer
S30V has better toughness and edge stability (more flexible)
Easier to sharpen, but will likely need sharpening sooner.

Carry a 531 now. No S30V blade, but it's lighter, and I think the blade shape is more usable. The 940 blade just seems too long to me.
Still a nice knife, and a Benchmade.

Was hoping to get this for a knife afficianado. Not sure if it meets his tip up tip down, steel hardness requirements etc but benchmade and looks good
