Also I've never had any issue using an xbox gift card through the Microsoft Store. Once redeemed the balance goes to your Microsoft account. No reason you shouldn't be able to buy xbox gold membership through the Microsoft store.

when checking out you should have an option to use your Account Balance.

Yes I bought the $100 gift card yesterday. I tried to buy 2 and the second one was rejected because it said limit of 1 per customer.

If you have Samsung Pay, in the app they have $50 Xbox cards for $42.5 (15% off). Not as good as this, but if someone's looking for more credit, just an fyi
