Anyone have recommendations for toys? Maddy's 8 weeks old now and awake a lot more than she was. She has an activity gym with hanging toys and a boppy tummy time mat already but I'd like to get her another couple of things that she can play with at this age. Any suggestions?

*They* (you know the authorities of all things baby Teehee) say that small toys they can hold on to are good for this age. I have yet to check out anything for LJ but I am sure they have scads of 0-3 mos toys.

That looks cool. She's not really gripping things yet (still batting) but I'll look into that soon.
The Skwish is awesome. It's really light and the strings are easy to grip as well as the sticks.

If she's not gripping, I'd not worry about much in the way of toys. Get a mirror, some of that high-contrast stuff for her to look at and be done with it.

Yeah, well I do want some other things anyway to buy me more happy time so I can do other things while she plays.

I wrote to a couple people on craigslist with different types of mats. One is water filled with things in the water she can push at for tummy time - the other is another mat she lays on but it plays music if she bats at the toys and has other interactive parts she can use as she gets older.
