Title says it all, which is better, those small pacs/pouches or the liquids?

Liquid. If there are stains I pour it on stain first.

Pacs for dishwasher. Plain liquid or powder for laundry.

NFC. If I ask her, she might think I want to wash my own clothes.

powder. Cheaper. I've been using a Sears powder for years once I saw it on SD and posters raved about it.

Is it better than the Costco/Sam's stuff? I've seen said SD on Sears powder, but I keep buying the warehouse stuff as it works okay.

TBH - one of the big reasons I like powdered detergent is that it leaves the clothes smelling clean and neutral -- not with fresh rain or meadow scents or whatever perfume they put int he liquid stuff.

Dunno. It's one of those things I've replied on SD people that really care about price points and such to tell us all what is a good value. I will say though that I've been using it for 8 years in our HE washing machine and never had issues with it not rinsing from the tray, mold/mildew on the gaskets, or caked up drain tubes.

Not a Tide Pod challenge after all, they updated the link today.

UPDATE: Jan. 23 ― A spokesman for Utah State University said the incident Saturday was unrelated to any social media challenges.
"It was not a Tide Pod challenge incident, despite all the reports. It was something much more private," said Tim Vitale, executive director of public relations and marketing for the university.

The individual packets are for people too stupid to use a measuring cup.

I'm trying to figure out whether it was the reason the pod was ingested (ie: mental health issue) or the manner in which it was ingested (ie: not through the mouth) which was "more private". EEK!
