What is body for life?

I ate too many treats today Frown But in my defense we were celebrating fathers day.

Dowa I envy bikinis. I don't believe I have ever worn one. Even at my slimmest I was still too self concious. Seems like it would be a good motivator.

I went grocery shopping for the week and loaded up on healthy foods. Its such a challenge with my husbands cholesterol issues and the youngest ones food allergies but I think I did well this time. I also bought a badmitton/volleyball net and we set it up and played tonight. Was fun but I know I need a harder workout. I'm going to go check out the EA thing tomorrow.

EEK! no sweets at all? What's a girl to do? I don't think I could ever follow this program.

My policy, everything is fine in moderation. I'm currently eating Red Hots Stick Out Tongue But I go off their food list for my main meals. It's a good foundation IMO.

That list is pretty similar to my husbands heart health diet. Its not so bad nod

The skinny cow icecream sandwiches are pretty decent when I absolutely need a treat.

I listened to a Jillian Michaels podcast today (she has a radio show every Sunday in LA) and she went over the daily routine of a Biggest Loser and all I can say is Holy Shit! 90 minutes of Cardio in the mornings, then interviews and challenges. Followed by weights and meetings with the trainers, then more weights and cardio. In all, they work out for 6-8 hours a day six days a week. Remind me to not complain about a hours workout.

Woah no wonder they lose so fast. Seems like that would be hard to maintain.

We are looking into buying a treadmill so I can start running again. I used to run outdoors but that will be impossible year round with the baby. We are looking at starting treatments up again for our third and last so I better get my butt in gear.

How does everyone combat the snacking urge? This seems to be a big downfall for medrool

I wish I could combat the snacking urge!

I typically tend to combat it by only keeping healthier snacks around me.
And I have one of those peppridge farm cakes in the freezer that take 20 minutes to thaw if you cut a slice. That way in 20 minutes I can determine if it's worth it to me still (usually it is.)

I do what gossipgirl said... at my cubicle, I keep nuts, a little bit of dried fruit, healthy bars, bananas, yogurts in the fridge, etc. During the week I probably eat about every two hours, whether it's a meal or snack laugh out loud but because it's all healthy, I am able to maintain my weight. Can't say the same about the weekend LMAO

I try to keep only healthy foods around me. I'm going to the store Friday and I'm already making a list of healthy foods to buy. I also printed a recipe for my own protein & granola bars (thank you, Alton Brown) that I hope to make this weekend bounce

1rst week -- lost 7-8 lbs ridiculous I know, virutally ate nothing except some fruit
2nd week -- ate a little plateaued a bit with very little food -- a few KFC chicken dinners a few days

3rd week -- lost another 7 lbs. eating very little food mostly fruit again. When you have drastic changes like that you feel motivated and I feel like moving around a lot more, walking to the store vs driving.

4th week --- Ate a few small meals Caesar Salad twice this week and have lost a small amount then plateauted a bit.

Im still taking arginine which at least for me clearly dulls my appetite. However, after the first two weeks when I didnt feel hungry at all, the last two weeks --- Ive started to feel some hunger though its greatly muted. Its putting me on the edge --- I could decide to start eating more light foods like salads regularly and probably lose weight far more slowly or still go full bore with the crazy, mainly fruit diet.

Reminder : Extreme, drastic diets like this can be dangerous for some people.

Another thing I found out --- I cant tolerate coffee/caffeine for too long a period or my skin starts to have small problems. When I back off it goes away quickly. I havent been drinking soda or coffee so I was puzzled at some small problems so I googled arginine and found many references by people who were taking arginine for body building , claiming that they had lots of skin problems after taking arginine.

oh wow. i knew they worked out a lot but had no idea it was that much. no wonder people were losing 10 lbs a week.

you're not giving into your appetite, which you should be instead of suppressing it. if you want to keep your metabolism running you need to eat fruits and veggies etc a couple times a day. another problem is sure you're gonna see changes more rapidly, but eventually when you start to eat more, even if its healthy foods, your body won't be used to it.

i think i'm finally over this past plateau, now i'm just crossing my fingers that i can stay true to my diet so i dont level off again.

and i'm curious, how has the nutrisystem been for you guys?
