$90 for this light? Because it is made by GE or because it works with Alexa?

This doesn't work WITH Alexa ... this IS Alexa. Has two microphones and a built in speaker, so aside from how well it performs voice recognition or what its sound quality is like, it's like having an Echo with a built in light for $8 more than the Echo's normal $80 sales price.

For $40 I might actually consider it. $90 is ridiculous.

Is the sound quality as good as echo or as bad as dot?

I haven't read all the reviews, but I'd think in between. It does NOT support multi-room music playback, ESP voice recognition (where the nearest Alexa device to you is the one that responds), or Alexa calling & drop-in.

Then you're probably not the target market, seeing as the Echo is already $80 to $100.

Agree.....Never could get it to connect to my wifi.....all my other devices connect fine. Tried with tech support and router support and no go. Sent it back. Kinda cheap and plastic for what it is.

I was thinking even though this may be overpriced I could use it in the living room but that is a deal breaker.

mine is working fine - you have to put sol into pairing mode (hold action button 5 seconds) then you will see it on your wifi and boom your 50% there. After that is just linking the apps. Really not that difficult actually.

You are also comparing the wrong product. This is no where close to the regular echo device. This has only 2 microphones (not 7), most likely poorer quality speakers, and doesn't support some of the functionality that a regular echo (or dot) would provide (like multi room casting, ESP or whatever it's called). So you should really be comparing it to a device that doesn't exist but lands somewhere between the dot and a regular echo.

Based upon others reviews, I'd say this product still needs some refinement. Interesting idea but I'll pass for now.
