Need to be at least an Xfinity Internet customer, buy the LG and then get a prepaid visa 16-18 weeks after in the mail.

I know it is not the $1 deal or whatever, but it is still pretty good with their service of 100MB free and talk and text free too.

Agreed OP. This is the original thread below which gives lots of details about phone, unlocking, cases, etc.

And here is the direct link to LG X Charge...

Best to choose option to pay in full for $180 if you can afford it. Then you don't have to lock into 24 months with XM, and you can have phone unlocked immediately (See old thread above).

Caveats with this one: The X Charge is barely worth the $30 (after 18 weeks?!), and Xfinity Mobile reps are some of the downright rudest I've ever had to deal with.

Otherwise, if you need a cheap phone for a senior or a kid, you can't beat free talk & text service (if you're already a Comcast customer).

I ported my home landline to the free Charge. Turned off data. With E911 fee, costs about $2.30 a month for an extra cell phone with unlimited voice and text. The Charge is fine for a larger size utility phone. That being said, not sure if I would pay money for it, but this Slickdeal t has worked out fine for me.

What issues are u having with the battery? I have noticed mine is starting to drain much faster with moderate use, and I got the phone in September.

I've had the phone since June, and to me it seems the battery doesn't last as long as it did back then. With Moderate use it seems to die faster than my S8.

I got this phone only to qualify for the $500 GC they were offering in early Dec. It has to stay "paired" with the SIM from xfinity for 90 days tho for that promo. Seems like a pretty decent Android phone - note the battery is not removable. After the 90 days I'm giving it to my mother as an upgrade from a flip (Trac) phone, since she's not doing anything internet-wise and the service would be actually cheaper than her Tracfone (which I guess requires a $15 load every 90 days just to maintain service).

As far as CSR goes, when I got the phone I did it as part of an annual "I'm going to cancel service" gig in combo with TV/internet to get a cheaper price. The Xfinity rep (TV/internet) transferred me to the mobile rep, who was perfectly fine on the phone, so no complaints there. The only snafu was that they sent the phone FedEx signature required, which is a PITA to coordinate as, as the receiver, you cannot request for them to hold @ location. So that means you either need to wait around for the phone, or let them try and deliver it 3 times before they hold @ location by default.

Got 2 of them, and 1 was a dud right from the unboxing (and took 2 1/2 months & 4 calls to get a refund!).

The other X Charge seems to be functionally okay (per my 12yo). But I much prefer the Moto E4 as a cheap Android backup.

Agree with phone use while turning data off and data saver on for those who only need talk and text. I feel that if you use phone and service (Verizon Network) for talk and text, then the cost works out to about 6 to 7 bucks per month for this phone and service for a year. Not bad for unlimited talk and text for those on a tight budget and don't need data.

I assume you are amortizing the cost of the phone in that figure? I haven't received my first month's bill yet but I anticipate around $3.

I asked the XM rep about the 100mb free and they didn't seem to know what I was talking about so I have data turned off.

Yes, you are correct. It does mention start with 100MB data on XM website (see link below) and I've never been charged for data since September. I do allow unrestricted access for voicemail and messaging in data saver so that it doesn't interfere with them. I have never gone over the 100MB, and that's with occasional google search using data.

I only care about the SIMs is it OK to flip the phone immediately or do you have to wait until you receive the cards?

Must keep phone and sim paired for the 90 days to be eligible. Phone must be activated within 7 days of receiving.
