The reviews indicate the narration is terrible.

This book is in the public domain and so are the audiobooks. It's free. It always amazes me when people post deals for classic novels as ebooks - they're always free if you use some critical thinking.
I would agree with this, unless you're paying for the audio, which I can see doing for some narrators, or if your buying physical paper. Otherwise gutenberg.org or your public library are your friends. You can get just about any audiobook online from you library. Never pay for books in the public domain.

"This abridged version will work well as an introduction to classic literature in elementary grade classes, but omits too much of the original text for older students."

I didn't know PG even had audiobooks. Pretty cool. I just listened to my first audiobook -- A Brave New World. Pretty good, and I read the Cliff Notes right after just to see if I absorbed the story as well as if I read it myself. And I was shocked that I had.
