I'd wait a few weeks to get it from an authorized LG site. After the 2018s are officially announced this week, the prices are going to be right around that from authorized dealers. I personally just bought it from buydig for 2199 with price protection from chase. I expect to pay 1699 when it's all said and done after I get reimbursed.
Also, the 2018s don't have any insane upgrades this year, so no reason to not get the discounted 2017 version.
Why?
Being authorized or not makes no difference to the warranty.
That said- it has already been this price or less, for a month or two now on and off, from at least 2 authorized dealer- there's been a dozen or more threads on it.
Call Beach Camera on the phone- they've sold this set, at this price, phone deal only, repeatedly since like November or December.
Or check a local Frys if you have one- they've had it even cheaper than this (I think as low as $1800 at one point?)- but you have to physically go into the store and ask about it.
FYI- Most of the '18s don't ship till June (one ships in March I think)
And as mentioned at least 2 authorized dealers have had this this price, or cheaper, for a month or two already- they just can't ADVERTISE it that cheap (due to MAP).
But again "authorized" doesn't make a difference to the warranty.
i had nothing but a great experience with first class tvs for my 65 b7a
although it wasn't mentioned anywhere they provided white glove delivery service with some small delivery company (AM home delivery). they brought it in, unpacked it, connected the stand, moved my old tv, and put the new tv where teh old one was. tipped em well of course.

If you aren't in a hurry, I would wait - these have been available for $2,099 for the last 2 months at at least 1 or 2 places. It is a good price, don't get me wrong, but it isn't a new special bargain.

I think this is it folks. As Knightshade, who has been following these TVs for years, suggests, the price may drop on some very brief one off sales (particularly in store deals, which we have seen), this is the time of year when the price hits the low and the inventory sells off for the 2018s. Getting a price lower than $2099 will be a thing of luck. In a month, stock of 2017 OLEDs will be extremely limited. Just think about it -- these TVs WILL all sell out from current inventory at $2099, so there is not much incentive to drop the price much further. It'll be very limited pickings from here on out at lower prices. By March the 2018s will begin hitting stores and the 2017 inventory will be gone.
EDIT: I'd also add that if you buy with a card with price protection, you are pretty safe with respect to any price drops, because by the end of the price protected period, these TVs won't be for sale anymore. However, buying off Ebay make make that a bit more dicey.
My 2016 model developed burn in about 10 mths in. Sometimes cutting edge means you bleed. I don't know if they have fixed this problem with the 2017 model
