Would this be good for a baby?

I was so close to buying this, but my ferrets would get in between the gaps.

Normal gates don't work because they climb up the screen (perhaps possible with this as well). Perhaps I should just cut some plywood!

If it's a baby human, probably, seeing as there is one in the pictures. A baby gorilla might be an issue. Smilie

purchase history shows we bought one 2 years ago for $30, and it's been working well so far. got 2 more, thanks op.

yes, ferrets could easily climb these. also, my crazy 3 year old boy once pulled it out of the doorway and fell on his back when he put his entire weight on it (35lbs). we tightening it super tight that chipped some paint off, but it's secure now.

This doesn't seem to open up like a lot of other gates. Is 28" too high for a shorter person to step over? Or does the whole gate have to be taken down for each passing?

for future reference, i can barely get over it without taking it down. I'm 5'9". if you're much shorter, it will be very difficult to get over without taking it down.
