Petco is ripping us all off. The $1 per gallon use to be on 40 and 55 gallon too! Now its only 50% off instead of $1 per gallon.

Thank you, urgently needed a small 10G for a dedicated quarantine / hospital tank and $10 was a good price.

With accessories (heaters, filters etc.) you'd want to check their online price right when you are in the store - often times it will be lower online even with the in-store discount, so this way you can ask to price-match their online price - they will gladly do this. E.g. a small 50W Aqueon heater is $13.19 online vs. $20 in store (though it is $9.99 @ Chewy)

I do remember getting a 40b for $40 a couple years ago, shame it's 50% off on those and larger tanks now. I wonder why.

Buy them off craigslist. You can easily get way cheaper. Particularly on the larger tanks now, since they dont even don $1 per gallon on 40+ anymore. I've bought three this way in the last 2 days, after deciding the petco sale (which has been going on for a month now) isn't actually worth it.

Thanks for explaining for the folks who don't know. A 40b offers a nice footprint for scaping and it's not too deep so you can get by with cheaper lighting. It's my favorite tank in standard sizes under 100g other than 20long
