Does TRU keep these Skylanders controllers in the same area as the Skylanders figures?
I ask because last month I went there to check out their mostly dead Skylanders and Infinity sections and bought what little was worth getting, and I did not see any of these controllers or I would have bought 1 or 2 for $4.98. I know X360 wired controllers work great with a PC, but I don't know if the same is true for a Xbone wired controller?
Most likely my store didn't have any. If they did they must have been in a different area nowhere near the figures (which were in 3 different areas in my store).
The $29 free shipping minimum is stopping me here and the fact TRU B&M is so far away, as well as already having plenty of extra controllers.
I'm guessing the thumbs down are people that didn't see "B&M YMMV" in the post or maybe the post was changed later to reflect that info, but I was able to get 2 of these controllers at my local B&M Toys R Us yesterday. This is the cheapest controller I've found for Xbox One and they're nice to have around as extras for local multiplayer. Definitely smaller than a typical controller, but they seem to be of acceptable build quality and even have a headset jack which some 3rd party controllers surprisingly omit. Thanks OP, repped.

They were in the locked case next to the other Xbox One controllers (video games section) at my local store.

Thanks. Funny you should reply just now. I'm about to make my once every 1-2 month trip to TRU today and I'll check out the controller section. Given online shows OOS and no store pickup available, I'm 99% sure they won't have any. Only reason I'm going to TRU is I have to go to another store nearby and I have a $5 off $5 coupon I need to use soon.
I already picked up my fill of Skylanders and Infinity for $1 each (actually less with 15% off coupon) in early January. I doubt they'd have anything new I'd want, and even if they were selling everything at 25 cents or 50 cents each, I can't see any point in having more than 2 of each figure. Why? Because I like many people own a 2 story house and for under $1 each it's worth it to have a box upstairs and downstairs so you don't have to carry them. The reason I bought extra starter packs is to have extra discs and portals, 1 for each console, to avoid lugging them around. At a few bucks each it's manageable.
