Office Depot / OfficeMax is having a "BIGGEST CHAIR EVENT OF THE SEASON", lots of deals on different chairs. I've been waiting to purchase the specific one mentioned in the title as it as a headrest and is from the WorkPro Quantum 9000 Series (I have the mid back version currently). They are also offering free chair assembly on chairs priced over $99...which I did not do.

I am on an Aeron now migrated from Freedom and migrated from Leap v2.. Both have pros and cons. The Leap v2 is really nice and was hijacked by a close relative... My favorite order goes Leap (headrest) > Aeron Mk2 (aftermarket headrest) > Freedom (headrest). All of the 3 chairs mentioned above can be customized with different material...etc. However, they are all in different price range when compared with this deal when new. Used pretty much voids the warranties...

Those are certainly better, but also twice the price even used. Those are $1000 range new.

I'd say this chair is probably worth about $100-150. $239 is too much. We have chairs that look very similar to this at work and I cannot stand them. Maybe if I committed an entire day to tweak the settings just right they wouldn't make me crazy. But at work that is a wasted effort, since people frequently steal chairs for meetings etc and I probably wouldn't even get the same one back at the desk when over.

Definitely go to a retail store and sit in one if you can. Sit in one for a little while and see how much you like it after 20-30 minutes.

Also, I've never owned a chair with a mesh seating cushion before, but it kind of worries me. Won't the mesh stretch out fairly quickly and lose its support?

thanks for posting this - i had hoped it was a higher back hyken, but sadly they both fail so this chair is $100 over priced IMHO. i actually found a hyken on craigslist barely used for $50 because the buyer had the same problem... too tall for such a poorly designed headrest. i ended up giving it to an asian friend who does not suffer my dimensional challenges.

I bought the hyken last week. I'm 5'10" and I've found it quite comfy. Headrest is great.

Mine makes a terrible thud sound at the base that cannot be fixed, I've taken it apart to try. I don't know if it's luck of the draw or what but it's every time I sit on it, I only weigh 165 lbs so I know it's not me...it's being used in a second floor office space and I can hear it through the floor when my partner gets up or sits down...even shifting your weight in the seat causes it to happen. We paid retail and were pretty disappointed after a year of use. Cushion is great but it's totally Chinese quality, they marketed this one hard.

Great chair. I sold mine when I moved. Looking to get another one soon. This chair is very adjustable. A lot of complaints about it not being comfortable or making your thighs feel numb is likely due to poor adjustments. This is a great chair for the price. Other better chairs are at least 3x the price new.
