**To those who are coming late to the party: The thread got so many votes because the trade-in values were $100 more than what you will see on 2/24 or later. The S8 was ~$200 trading in a V20, for instance**

--Several members have posted problems with EPP pricing not matching my pricing. I have no idea whats wrong with those members EPP pricing. Mine has never failed once since I posted this deal.--

Guide for T-mobile customers to unlock T-Mobile devices purchased from Samsung
A T-Mobile Note 8 buyer has his phone unlocked and is not a customer of T-Mobile thanks dadmi!
Another NON T-Mobile customer had his T-Mobile note 8 unlocked with the guidethanks scorpic
Option 1: Call T-Mobile and get your request escalated to a Sr. Technical support rep. From there, they need to have your device entered into the device distribution inventory system. Once that is done, you will be able to use the Device Unlock app on your phone.

Option 2: T-Force
1. go to facebook.com and send them a message
- Request to speak to T-Force and someone from that team will immediately take over the message
- Please note there is a delay between responses (I'm guessing they're talking to multiple folks) of about 3 minutes so be patient
2. Tell them you bought your device your T-mobile branded device directly from samsung and you need your IMEI added to their Database in order to use the Unlock App
3. They will ask for the following
- email address
- phone number (you'll get a link to verify your account)
- IMEI #
- proof of purchase (send them a picture via the facebook messenger app)
4. They are aware of the situation and will escalate it to the correct team
5. Wait 72 hours (I actually only needed 48 hours)
6. Go to the Unlock App on your Samsung S8(+) and click the permanent unlock button (see attached picture below)
- if successful it will tell you and you'll need to restart your phone (I had to do like 3 restarts)
- just keep spamming the button once or twice a day (be patient...it'll work out)
- the Unlock App will disappear from your app drawer (it's actually just in the "disabled" state so it doesn't show in app drawer)
- Put in another SIM card to verify (I put in a AT&T SIM to validate)
7. Be happy because this was super easy
Note: do not need to wait 40 days (this is not true ... I had my phone for only 1 day)


Step by step phone activation on a carrier different than Verizon (T-Mobile..Etc). Credits go to briandang98 and pervin_1

• My phone is S8 Verizon.
• I turn on the phone with Verizon SIM, it asked me to activate or not. I skip it and turn on Wifi, I check it is android 7.0 , went to check for update. It shows error the device is not authentic.
• I turn off the phone then insert the my current Tmobile SIM card. Phone showed "It's not
• Verizon SIM card, do you want to Reset....". After I press O.K the phone reboot and shows Tmobile logo.
• About a minute later it auto SECURITY update from Samsung.
• With the Wifi and data turn on the phone notify there is a SYSTEM update from Tmobile. I down load and installed. Now the phone is shown:
• Android version: 8.0.0
• Samsung experience version: 9.0
• Baseband version: G950USQ2CRB9
• So In the future, if there is any update it will be surely get it.
• Everything works as Tmobile phone: Wifi calling, visual voice mail......
