Taxact link

50% off (lowest price so far this year)
Plus: $14.97
Freelancer: $22.47
Premium: $29.97
(state an additional $18.50 for any option)

My recommendation: lock in this a return at this rate now (do not pay yet) and then just delete and add a new return if there is a better deal later in March.

Prior threads have indicated that we are not likely to see the same deals as prior years ($10 fed + state last year) due to a change in company leadership.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Still waiting for $12 deal, both state and fed e-file. Wink
Once TaxAct hiked their prices, I switched to FreeTaxUSA.com...with 10% off promo code I was able to file federal, state and local for less than $12.

I have been using TaxAct for years, nearly 10 in total.

After switching FTUSA even found a deduction that TaxAct didn't for contributing to a 457 plan. So definitely done with TaxAct.
I had switched to TA when TT had their drm fiasco. Been happy with the exceptional value for years. Alas the nice ride may be over when I saw the price jacked up so high this year. I am switching back to TT. Those of you that are Fidelity customers, you might check and see if you get Premium free. Just log in to your Fidelity account and a link should be there for free copy. Download or online. I was glad I did.

I hope they offer that - in the meantime this is the best price I've seen offered this year. If you don't pay now, you can lock in the price but delete later and add a new return at a future lower price (if a better deal comes along).

Thank you! I was able to get the deal going thru Retailmenot. I remember when I first started using Taxact and it was free. I'd go elsewhere but right now all my last years info is stored so a bit of a pain to go to a different service.

Hopefully someone posts a better deal closer to April.

In most states, yes (see https://www.taxact.com/support/36...ate-return). However, it is easier to file both, since they use most of the federal information in your state return.
