This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Can't wait till friday. There are a few toys at target with my name on them. And some other stuff. And some stuff at Sears and other stores. I love black friday.
nod nod nod

Agreed---newbie holiday cashiers are almost universally the bestest!!!

I was SO the windshield today (had to get more dipes...and Glade...and GCs); only thing better would have been if they had anymore Cranium Zooreka games that they had done a substitute on for the Let's Go Fishin' game...but alas, no.

Friday is gonna be GREAT. WM for BB price match on movies and games, then Target an hour later (would just PM them to Wally, but I *might* feel the need to buy more Glade and/or burn through some of the five-inch thick stack of GCs I've been accumulating).

You know how it is....Cool

I have been out of the country since last week, but I saw my $25 "I'm sorry" e-credit. I am so tempted to not redeem it and actually push it harder to get the item to see what happens. If they are sending out a this and stating by redeeming it you give up any claims, they must think folks actually have a claim (at least in some states). Anyone else thinking of not cashing in the $25?

Technically, if I did a return (not sure if that's possible), they would have to refund my GC (that's how I paid for it). Evillaugh Totally pointless...

Now, if they give me CASH back for the return.... Evil

I don't mind working really. With this economy, I am very grateful to have a good job. Do you think with all the government bailouts, they could give me 100 g's or so?

Me: "Can I transfer the balance of this $50 camera GC to another GC?"

Target: "If you do a return on this $50 GC, we have to keep it." Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Me: Confused "I'm NOT returning the GC. I want to transfer the balance. I bought this GC & wanted to keep it for my kids." (speaking very sloooowwwly now - most of us do that when we talk to someone who doesn't speak English) Angry

Target: "You're allowed to keep this GC if you redeemed it, not when you return it." Bash

Me: "FINE, can you sell me a NEW GC and THEN, I want to use this $50 camera GC to pay for it?" Head Bang

Target: "Sure." Insane

Wave Ok, I see a new chat thread, one that only has two pages, so I'll just read this one and forgo the old one. . . Big Grin

But I feel like I must have been gone a million years b/c I don't recognize 1/2 the names posting here!! ZzZZz

We had a great time in Scotland and Ireland, though late November is probably not the time to travel to that part of the world. . . . it was cold and wet and it got dark at 4:30 PM!! Kinda cut in to our sight seeing time, esp. since I don't exactly get up early these days. Wink

We also missed our connecting flight from Dublin to Edinburgh on the first day (due to something DH did that I'll not go into right now Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I was as nice as I could be about it. Really.) Which meant we got to Edinburgh at 7:30 AM on Saturday and the conference started at 9:30 AM. We were only 5 minutes late which was a small miracle.

The conference was good but in a small warm room with too many bodies in it and REALLY uncomfortable plastic chairs. My butt hurt so bad from sitting in those chairs. . . I must have looked like a squirmy little kid b/c I could just not find a comfortable position. Frown Edinburgh looked soooo beautiful, what little I saw of it (a couple of restaurants at night). Everything (all the buildings) are made of stone, and there are lots of beautiful trees.

Also saw lots of pubs in Dublin. Embarrassment Sad to be an Irish girl in a pub and not get to have a Guinness. I guess if I was a real Irish girl I'd have one anyway. laugh out loud

But here's a funny story: the last night we were there, we're at a pub having dinner. I go to the bathroom (for like the millionth time Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)) and sit down in the stall. I look at the door in front of me and amid all the assorted graffiti was the name that DH and I have chosen for our son: Andreas. (Which is an unusual name here in the states, but much more common in Europe.) EEK! I wish I had had my camera and taken a picture of that!

Hope you all have been well. . . . I'm frantically trying to figure out my plan for Friday. Not sure if I can brave the crowds this year or not, but I'll go out at least for a little while. It's tradition and all.
