I had to take my 21 month old to the ER at midnight. He woke up gasping for breath. Off to the Er we went.
Turns out it is just croup, but it took 2 breathing treatments and a dose of steroids to bring it under control.
I put him to bed at 7:30 last night, he was fine. No fever, no cough, runny nose or any sign of being sick. It was absoloutley the most terrifying moment of my life.
We didnt get home til 4am, and now I am back up so I can shower and take him to the Pediatrician this morning.
My baby never gets sick, and he is just so bad right now. He is still sleeping and I am just so thankful that he is ok.

What really irks me is when you post a response to someone or answer some questions on a thread and no one responds to your post...like you didn't even exist much less post something. Really frakkin' annoying.

Anyone know when they usually outgrow croup? DD is 3 1/2 yrs and we haven't had any issues so far this winter so I'm hoping that maybe she's outgrown it but then again, she usually get it in the spring.

We followed up at the Peds office, and he was wheezing a little. So they did send me home w nebulizer stuff, and more steroids. The steroids are making him really wired, but are working. He felt fine the rest of today and havent heard a peep out of him.

Although I was previously CPR cerified and I worked in the medical field before I had him, all that was lost. You are a Mommy 1st before a medical proffesional. I was a little panicky, but did well.
I am so glad he is ok. I am also thankful to have such wonderful friends like you guys!

Oh, thank goodness he is doing a little better! I'm glad you now have the nebulizer stuff and steroids on hand to help you next time.
I understand that whole being a mother first and everything else after. Your instincts just kick in and you go in protective mode.
I'm a little scared of this croup thing...considering so many of you have dealt with it. I will need to research it some more to try and prepare myself in case DD gets it.
Two Glade runs today. First one, the kid cut me let me use only 2 of the Good coups on 4 refills. Problem was, that those were the last 4 Holiday scent refills.
Tonite, I tried again with the Non-Holiday scents. The gal would have let me use as many coupons as I wanted, but.... Definitely not as good of deal without the Holiday scents in there. They did not ring up like the others have. Although, "two" of the coupons deducted as I was expecting. The other two did not. (I had a Wisp, and 4 refills)
CORRECTION: Thanks to Mamaoftwins, I believe there is a chance I had a couple coupons mixed in, that I didn't realize were mixed in by mistake. That is probably the reason for the issue. thanks Mamaoftwins!
