This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

I took my son to kbtoys today (45 minutes away) to spend a giftcard that we got last christmas, next time we went to our mall, ours was closing.
So turns out this KB was closing too, and they wouldn't accept GC as payment. Poor thing was so upset. It pisses me off because they already got their damn money from the GC, I should be able to buy something with it Mad
I haven't looked at their site, but maybe you can use the gc online.

I don't care if they are all legit or not - buying 25 of something with 2 coupons each is going to stress out many cashiers and managers. Who knows what the magic number is, sadly every manager can set their own limits. It's something you just live with - I just don't think 25 is the magic number for the Target you shopped at. Wink

just got back from a terrible terrible shopping trip. I am so upset!!! I was trying to buy about 25 tubes of colgate toothpaste, ravyoc, trash can, shoes, etc.
I has coupons for every tube of toothpaste, 1 target and 1 manu, 10/50 target Q and 5 of the batteries. Yound dumb cashier gets nervous because he was scanning to many, called the manager (same one I complained about for being rude and smart assy and for not understanding the one per transcation/purchase rule) He comes over and says, yeah we could only accept one coupon for the entire order. blah, blah , I am on the phone with corp and they agree with me, I call the manager over and corp. explains to him the policy BUT wait!! manager changes story, he says I am buying to many, I am buying over 50 and that is not the right size for my family. He hands the phone to me and corp says I am now buying to many and the store has a right to limit how many I purchase. so he takes my cart away, will not return my coupons, embarasses me in front of t he store, like I am trying to steal and take off with the cart. I am RED! and I hear him on the phone with security or something. I was not loud but I did call him a dumbass rude ass because he said have a nice day in a sarcastic tone.
So now I am calling the district office and hopefully get my coupons back and file a complaint. any other suggestions? I am beyond staying under the radar.......... I could care less. I just want to walk in the store and not be looked down upon because I use coupons. much less using target coupons at the target store!!
And the ass said that the reason they accept coupons was to try the item, like a sample. I said, no they are to save money and he got all rude and said nope, it is to sample a item
Highly doubt that's why you are looked down upon there Coverlaugh
Quote from butitsonsale :
Like I have said, I am over being scared of being scrutinized. All my coupons are legit, there were NO overages. The colgate here is $2.11 and I was buying a huge trashcan for $48.XX and some closet organizers although it really does not matter. Just because I am using coupons, I have to put up with being treated like this?
Also my non profits are family and friends that I "donate" to. Again, like you said, that it matters. I was kidding. ANd I did not clear out the shelves. there were at least one full endcap left.
You already had a run in with the guy - sounds to me like your attitude played a huge role in how you were treated this time.

Well when s/he has already been denied using 4 BOGOS on 4 items for Glade at T....

Well, once a store files for bankruptcy, they no longer own their merchandise. The liquidators take over & set all the prices, etc....stores only carry the name & your gift card does them no good b/c you have zero capital/cash to reimburse. You are supposed to give a window to consumers to use their cards by but these days you may never hear about it & will probably miss it.
I went thru that with CompUSA and Zale Corp. You give up your rights & the liquidators basically damage what name you have left with all sorts of crazy claims & such.
Check out Gordon Bros..they are a huge liquidator & don't give a crap about what they do, sometimes the closing prices are higher than the prices that the stores actually had to begin with.
I never knew that. That is just Crazy

Ok, so I came back a second time, really don't have time, but...

Just wanted to let you know that the limits at WAGS really aren't enforced very much. If you use that coupon on two items, for example, and the cashier doesn't stop you, the coupon will apply x 2. The register definitely does not enforce the rule.

Very seldom do cashiers enforce the limits, although just like most stores, the younger cashiers are much more easy going about this.
Sorry...I should have specified "rebate". The acronym's keep changing on me!!

He's not a giant or anything (~65% percentile) so the little bugger really gets around in there.
Oooo...I had two that flipped! Ouch! Both of them in the last week of pregnancy. The first was 9 lbs. and 22 1/2 inches...EEK! Not sure how he managed to turn breech that late, I just remember it was painful!

The second one turned breech the night before I went in to the hospital, but he was much smaller 7 1/2 lbs. That one just tickled and kept me up all night..while he turned breech. laugh out loud And he was born on Valentine's Day. heart

I never knew that either until a local news station did a story on Linens & Things that is closing here. They explained it just like that. A company takes over and they get a portion of the sales. Most of the time, they come in and raise prices before they post a % off, so people think they're getting a good deal, but the % off price is actually higher than what they could have gotten it for at regular price before the Going out of Business Sale! Doesn't seem fair....

**Any of you East Coasters going out to check Target clearance tomorrow at 8:00? Those of us in Central Time will be waiting to hear your reports. I have to drive 30 minutes, so I hate to make a special trip if it isn't 90% off. And you know what happens when you call.......most of the time they have no clue!

In case anyone is itching like me, 1 of my 3 stores hit 90% today. This was the same store that hit 75 % one day earlier than my others too. Good luck for those that need stuff!

I hope that my T goes 90% today! I went yesterday to the closest 1 and it was pretty picked over at 75% but another store had tons on Tuesday.
Hopefully the 2nd, which I will be near today, will be 90%!

I also had an interesting run on 12/31, went to use some expiring q's, ended up getting those back and still paying just the tax. The cashier was so confused so I just grabbed them back quickly and said it was from the 10/50. I have never had that happen. It made me so nervous!!

Found some good hidden things at my stores yesteday. I hadn't set foot in a store for clearance at all. This stomach flu has kicked my butt!

Found one store with tons of dough and cheese platters. No markings at all.
This same store had almost nothing left in the Christmas area. They may go 90 today.

Lots of winter lip balm in the dollar spot 75% off cute perfect for DD birthday party favors

2 packs of Silly Putty red and green $.49.

3 packs of balm in a tin in Christmas flavors Gingerbread, Vanilla Frosting, Peppermint $.74 in the regular Beauty isle

Burts Bees Naturally Radiant Beuaty bag $3.74

I had big plans for yesterday. Went to 2 Targets then went home because I didn't feel well AGAIN.

I have to install a wireless network across town today. So maybe afterwards I can do some shopping.

Thankfully I do not remember much of what happened. . . . . I made Soph take one with me and we didnt get up until 6 pm. We are about to play some games, but I wanted to let you all know how I was for now
I hope they let you know soon.

I had to wear that heart monitor for 24 hours right before we left for the holidays. While we were away, I got a message saying they scheduled me for an appointment to get the results of that for Jan. 19th. Frown I'm trying to take that as a good sign, that it's so far away since if things were messed up I would think they would work me in sooner. But I hate waiting.

Too bad about the T run. Big Grin But just think, you can always hold this over the kid's head. "You ruined Mom's Target run by coming early." Rofl2
