Requires that you buy a CARRIER FINANCED phone. This deal is not on the unlocked model and the pre-order must be done in store. You don't do the trade in until you pick up the phone and finalize the purchase. Tax is calculated on the full price before the discount and each carrier can charge an upgrade fee. The $100 discount is applied as a downpayment so you finance $100 less. You can pay off the financing agreement at any time. For AT&T and Verizon, the S9/S9+ will qualify for early upgrade at 50% paid off. The trade in value is given as a Best Buy gift card and in the past, they would do the trade in with the purchase and let you use the Best Buy gift card as a downpayment. Be sure and ask to use the trade in gift card as a downpayment before you purchase so that the rep can apply it before the purchase is finalized.

No word on if there will be freebies if you pre-order. I would be surprised if there aren't, but so far nothing has been announced.

The best deal is if you have an S7 to trade in. For an AT&T S9, you will pay about $50 tax and a $25 upgrade fee (which in some states they charge tax and FUSC on and it is more like $30). You will finance $390 so total cost will be $465. Since the $100 discount and $300 TIV are applied as a downpayment, your monthly payment will be $16.25 if you finance over 24 months.
