While it's not as good as 2016 ks8000, 2018 model doesn't appear to have changed much and will cost a lot more than this for a while.
If you're a spec person, the new TCL P series should be out this month and in the 6 to 700 range.

Forget about ratings your eyes tell what's best and both my conclusion & the Samsung reps conclusion was the 8000 was by far the best unless you go to the Q series. The 8000 is much better than the 9000 and I liked the Q7 better than the Q9. I compared all the foregoing in 55" TV's different sizes may look different.
The Q7 & 8000 are very close.... bang for the buck this 8000 at Costco is a superb deal as the Q7 is twice the price.
Looks like BJs has similar version for $20 more
