They killed 3D and now they're killing UHD because of short-sighted, dumbass greed.

Is Pacific Rim any good? Worth $17?
Good luck to you
Pacific Rim is my go to reference disc, as well as my prime example for why the "fake 4k" argument is bullshit. This movie looks absolutely stunning, and HDR takes it to the next level. It's pretty generic on a story and acting level, but if you're looking for something for pure visual splendor, Pacific Rim is as good as it gets.
$9.99 for a 4K Blu is a damn good deal, and you know as well as I do they don't come around at that price very often. For someone who frequently watches movies, $16 a piece is a good price when they typically cost $25-$30 at normal retail. If that's not a good enough price to satisfy your needs, that's good for you, but it still doesn't make it a bad deal for others.
To me, the bump to 4K resolution is not what makes 4K movies worth buying. It's all about HDR. A 2K DI still has a significant improvement over it's blu-ray counterpart in my eyes because of HDR. If I had a Non-HDR 4K TV, my opinion might be different, but I think people get too worked up over the "fake 4k" crap. See my post above, Pacific Rim is the best looking movie i've found (not counting PEII/BPII), and it's "fake 4k".
