What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Chase Ink Business Preferred 3% back from shipping purchases.
Not sure why you imagine that- lots of folks have been approved with very small business income and ebay listed as the business throughout all the chase biz card threads.

They're just checking if your ssn or ein is legit.
I dont even have a business and just used my name/info and got approved no problem. just said i get $1000 annually from my business... i know ill get at least 500 this year! process was no different than getting a personal card
Chase doesn't care, at all, what you buy.
That wording is there because biz cards don't have the same consumer protections that personal cards do, and Chase doesn't want you suing them because you didn't know that.
So they can say "Well, they agreed they'd just not use it for personal things, so they can't sue us when they use it for personal things"
That's why it's you agreeing, not them requiring. Very different things.
You're explicitly allowed to use it for those things though, and the benefits guide explicitly mentions use of it for personal charges as something they permit.
