You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

I have excellent credit score+history and own small business, but declined. A letter from Chase doesn't include any reason, just declined.

If I visit local Chase Branch, will be same result?

I am currently use all business expanses using Citi double cash(I know it is personal, but only use for business uses) and gets 2%. This Chase card is 0.5% lower, but I am looking for some business card without annual fee. =P
What does the letter say exactly?

Thank you for the info.

After I read the letter that doesn't say any specific reason why I got declined, I just throw the paper out. I cannot remember what exactly it said. Stick Out Tongue
I will try one more time when I visit local Chase branch.

By law, the letter must say why. You just can't remember.

What is the limit on opened Chase accounts? Was it no more than 5 accounts in 2 years or something like that?
How soon can I apply for new Chase CC after closing another? Does it matter between Business cards and "regular" ones?
I would appreciate if someone can explain. Thanks!

Chase has multiple rules.

1/30- No more than 1 business card application will be approved per any 30 day period.

2/30- No more than 2 total chase applications will be approved in a 30 day period.

5/24- No applications will be approved if your credit report shows you have opened 5 or more cards (from ANY bank, not just chase) in the last 24 months.

Most (but not all) business cards don't show up on your personal report so those don't add to your total- but Chase business cards do CHECK if you're under 5/24 or not when applying for them.

All 1st party Chase cards are subject to all of the above. A very few 3rd party ones aren't subject to 5/24.

There's also the rules for bonus eligibility, which are typically 24 or 48 months from the last time you got a bonus on that card or card type depending on the car.

There's also some more complexity to bonus eligibility on the SPG/Marriott cards that crosses over between Chase and Amex.

1. This is currently the best offer for this card. If you're looking for higher rewards, check out the Chase Ink Preferred which ties into your #2 in that if the device is purchased with the card, you do have cell phone insurance

The Chase Ink Preferred used to have the 100k bonus up until reports from some users suggested that deal was gone. The most you can get is 80k Chase UR points with 5k spend in 3 months with the Ink Preferred. I would highly suggest that card over this one considering your cell phone insurance needs and desire to have a higher bonus.

I know that office supply stores are 5% back on the ink business cash card. Now if I walk into say Office Depot or Office Max will this apply to anything and everything that I buy at the store? I was looking at buying gift cards there which I can use elsewhere. Thank you in advance for your help.

P.S. I tried calling Chsse's customer service for this but the person would not give me a straight answer about what constitutes an office supply store.

Buying GCs at OD/OM/Staples will count as office supply store purchase for 5% cash back

The only problem I had was I ordered a case of paper online for store pickup at a local OD and another one at a local OM -- one of them gave me 5% and the other only 1%. This was for a store pickup order so not exactly an in-store purchase but just a warning with that -- I don't think anyone's had a problem with regular in-store purchases

Thank you. I have to go next door to an OD tomorrow, so I figured I would just stop in and pick up some gift cards.

I've purchased gc from staples online and in store that gave me 5%.
Others have reported that OD may not be coded as office supplies stores so you may need to call chase to get the difference credited, 4% on top of the 1% they give.

I recommend going to staples to save the hassle.

Why is the font page of SlickDeals 50% credit card offers. Site has really gone downhill the past 10 years. Shame.
