You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

Anyone with a business actually use this? We have a family business and our monthly UPS bill is about $2000. Would shipping services from UPS categorize as business? If so that's $100 per month for us and that alone is worth keeping this card forever.

Anyone not able to sign up a new business online banking login? They say I need to call to get a pin, but the rep said even they can't generate a pin on their end for me. Card is activated though.

There is a different portal for business cards. Called in to chase and they helped me to sign up for the "chase for business" and they were able to link my personal and business account in that chase for business portal

Technically yes it would categorize as business but youre better off with the Chase Ink Preferred (3x on shipping) to get 6k points/month whereas with CIC (this one) youll only get 2k/mo. CIP does have a $95 annual fee though.... let me know if you have any questions!

Newbie here and a tad confused/unsure what I may have done wrong. I tried applying and received an immediate decline. I'm thinking I did something incorrect and somehow info was unverifiable within their auto system.
Details: I own an LLC of which I am the sole owner with high gross yearly sales. My husband and I file personal taxes jointly (he is listed first on the tax return)
I filled the form out and provided both my ss# and the FEIN for the business (as requested on the form). Should I have used his SS# since he is listed first on our tax return?
Also, category is sporting goods with the breakdown of sporting goods retail. Should I have chose something else?
I listed # of employees as 1 (myself). Should I have listed "0"?
We do not currently have any credit cards.
In business for 7 years, verifiable w tax returns.
Any helpful info would be much appreciated as I am at a point in business where I could really use this. Thanks in advance.

Until you get the letter with the reason for denial, we would just be guessing. But if you'd like me to guess, the sentence I highlighted would be the reason why. Chase doesn't like to be your first credit card. You should have established credit for > 1 year before hitting up Chase.

Finally got around to going to a branch and applying for this card today. I'm assuming I'll get approved since I had the business preferred until a couple months ago. Tried applying online a couple times but it never let me submit the application. Hopefully I can get approved and have the card in hand before next Friday. Application doesn't show up on app status on Chase's site yet though. Bank guy said a lot of times he gets answers on approvals fairly quick, not for me apparently.

Thanks OP for this. Applied 10 days ago and got my card yesterday. Already put $4000 on it for a week all inclusive vacation at Jamaica for 2019. Let's see if I'll get the $500 bonus cash back.

Does anyone else's transaction list act weird when compared to normal credit cards? I don't see all my pending charges like I do on my other chase cards and some charges will just post automatically and skip the pending charge phase. Makes it a bit harder to track recent purchases
