You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

It takes time. They want to check your credit score before giving a credit card with a $3000 minimum limit to anyone.

Approved with my very, very small self-employed ebay reselling operation, but my credit score was reasonably high. Called the number after 5 days or so and stated approved, with no 2 week or 7-10 day message. Shipping expedited upon request for free.

should be noted I had a prior tax year that had my schedule c on my return, so the IRS would have record of my SSN being used as an EIN.

Does anyone else's transaction list act weird when compared to normal credit cards? I don't see all my pending charges like I do on my other chase cards and some charges will just post automatically and skip the pending charge phase. Makes it a bit harder to track recent purchases

I have the same problem and called them. They said after the first statement, it will sync and fix itself. They trying to find the issues where you don't have to wait for the first statement to see the recent activities. Also, if you go to see all-transactions(even though there's nothing there) and go to search and search all transaction, it will show up.

Staples does sell amazon gc's as I have boughts hundreds of $ of them there on my card. Had to ask a clerk as they were locked up in the gc case.

Hey Cappy123. Not sure if you've heard of Fiverr.com they help small businesses with their digital marketing. Right now they have a deal going on till November 30th. Use code SMALLBIZ20 at checkout for 20% off next purchase.Don't know how to post on SD but saw your post was business related.

I received an approval email Nov 5 but still haven't received the card. That 8 days is seriously cutting down my time to spend $3k.
Also, in the email there is No mention of the $500 cash back. Can anyone confirm that their approval email also didn't n that there's no need to be concerned? Thx

You actually get ~ 110 days to meet spending on Chase cards, so unless your card is massively delayed you will still have 3+ months to meet spend. Also remember that yesterday was a national holiday so no mail service. Chase does not list the signup bonus on the approval email or mailed materials - they don't approve cards without the signup bonus, but if you desire piece of mind, you can contact them via secure message once you have the card set up for online access to confirm the signup bonus.

Thank you very much for the info. Had my biggest expenses of the year this last weekend, so was very disappointed. Maybe their email wording could've been better to decrease expectations...or I could've called them. ;-)
Thanks again!
