You did it wrong. And applying with your SSN had nothing to do with your decline. Don't pretend to have an elaborate business that you can't back up - even if you can stretch it to seem kinda plausible.

What you should have done (and could do in 30 days if you wish to reapply) is to simply apply as a "Sole Proprietor". From that point, pick a category/subcategory that makes sense for you, put minimal levels of income and years in business. I have gotten 3 Chase business cards doing exactly that (2 using my SSN, the 3rd with an EIN), as have a large number of other people - oddly enough, it is easier to get approved following those steps than for legitimate small business owners applying for their businesses.
That one has an annual fee and requires $5k spending from what I can see, but the CB and bonus amount are indeed better.
When I signed up years ago, basic Ebay sellers were viewed as a business. Today YMMV but I still have the card.

One thing to know, the buyer protections granted to customers of non-business VISA cards may not come with the business card. You may want to check carefully before using this card for higher risk purchases.

I have applied early summer and was declined. My credit score is 820+. This is the first time I got declined, like ever. If you search online most people were getting declined after april time frame or so. Some guy that hosts website that talks about credit card wasn't approved either. I guess I got used to $1000 a year (one for myself and one for my wife) too soon. Didn't bother trying to open the card for wife...
Same
820 Declined, first time ever
Sounds familiar
Checked churning sites and it is recommended for sole proprietors to not apply for business cards at the moment.

Thanks for information, repped.

Is anyone getting approved for this? What's the trick when filling it out to get approved? I don't have a business... I just have a $3000 purchase I need to make. Thanks.

Chase is such a pain in the ass... I had a slate card with them but yet I was denied.... Signed up for the capital spark and was immediately approved.

Same here, rejected by chase even after having freedom card as well as checking + saving account with them for 10+ years with very good credit history.
Applied for Capitalone spark and got approved immediately.

How does this not waste a 5/24 slot?

Because it is a business card. When you apply for this and use your SSN and chose sole proprietor, you name yourself as the business. Business cards doesn't mix into your personal credit report. It's like if your business file for bankruptcy but you personally are safe from the bankruptcy unless you somehow decide to put up your house as collateral or some shit if the business fail.

Also, still waiting for you to list another card that give a $500 bonus without annual fee or a card that give you 5% cash back for paying your phone, internet or cable bills every single month.

Anyone still know if they're being a hard ass on businesses that don't have a long established date?

Depends on how strong your business is. I'm personally going to wait. I'm in no rush, and rather not waste a hard pull.
