I keep telling you that you are too focused on playoff seeding. The following article is a couple of years old, but as you can see the #1 seed making the finals is less then the #2 getting there since 2002. 12% less than the #2

It is all about the match ups.

I've heard all that stuff before actually and there is some truth to it, but I focus in how a team is playing are they getting better or trending downward. TB has been in first since Oct so this is big for the B's. They are in the top 5 in key metrics. This team is better than the 2011 team. Like the B's against any team in the east because they are getting better without being at full strength. Best of luck.

Not playoff related, but it was cool to see an emergency goalie get action last night in the Blackhawks-Jets game, and stop all 7 shots he faced!

That was way cool! The Hawks players mugged him with nuggies, head pats & helmet taps. Great how happy they were for him. I heard they played their ***** off to make it easier for him.

The Pittsburgh Penguins clinch a berth to the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs as they look to quench their #ThirstForTheCup

Thanks.

What happened to your Bruins the other day. They got spanked pretty good.

My Pens are certainly making it interesting by failing to have some consistency.

Young kids learning that you gotta compete for 60 minutes if you want to win in this league. Nothing is given. They'll bounce back. President's trophy is a useless accomplishment and I'm not too worried about seeding. Strong team overall right now.

Yeah, they got smoked, but playing on the road against one of the best teams in hockey is always a challenge. This is why you want home ice adv. if you can get it. I'm going to take a wild guess and say they are looking at their remaining schedule thinking we can go at a minimum of 2-1. Applause

Home ice is nice but still overrated. Ask Washington. They have a history of choking on it.

Can be except if you get "home cooked" by the refs/linesmen then it can be a big deal. If you are a betting person in the NHL first round of the playoffs it can be advantageous to take the dogs in the first round of individual games.Peace

I haven't gambled on sports since December 10, 1979. I was one win away from a perfect 20 game College/NFL football pool. My hometown Steelers cost me a lot of money that day.

Wish the Pens would have been able to get the win in regulation last night. It would have given them the opportunity to rest some of their stars tonight.

Wow, you remember that exact day almost 40 years ago!!!! I have a few fond memories for sure like the 11 team parlay that I put a Cnote on and had them all covered except one late afternoon game in which I just needed the team to win to complete a killer parlay. Well, team trailing by 6 with under a minute to go the team traveled the length of the football field with about 15 seconds left to go on the 15 yard line, threw an interception near the goal line and that was the end of my great payday. ApplauseMad not Cool

I had to look up the exact date, but I remember the game and the sick feeling I felt afterwards. I actually had to secretly listen to the end of the game from the hallway steps because it was passed my bedtime.

I also vividly remember getting knocked out of a Texas Holdem tournament at a final table by a drunk that called my very large preflop raise when he was holding 7 2 off suit. Of course the garbage flop that included both a 7 and 2 didn't seem dangerous to my pocket aces. His two pair held up and I was sent packing.

Pens are resting with first round home ice on the line. Locals are going nuts on sports talk radio. I trust Ciach Sullivan.
