Can u read again Taxes is about 12%-15% plus local FEE $20-22/day. Chase adds $21.76 for 10250 points/ per night.

In which case your method "saved" $217.60... and "cost" between $300-$420 in lost points (at the very lowest end of what those points were worth- potentially much higher for some UR redemptions).
You lost roughly $100-200 in value doing it your way- and do so every time you use your method.
Doing your method using IHG points would've cost you a ton more than that (since IHG points are worth barely more than half what Marriott points are worth)
it's a textbook example of why it's virtually never worthwhile to use Marriott or IHG as a transfer partner for UR points, rather than using the portal at 1.5x... (as opposed to Hyatt, where if you happen to want/need a Hyatt room, transfers can often beat the portal)
I mean, it's your money to waste, but your inability to realize you're doing that is baffling at this point.
I have a Chase Freedom, Sapphire (no fee), and Hyatt credit cards. Is there a way to get points from the Freedom card to the Hyatt card that has a higher redemption value for points? Thanks.

No, you need a paid premium Chase card to transfer.

Not with your current card lineup. But you could either open a new premium Chase card, or try converting your current no fee Sapphire to a Sapphire Preferred or Reserve, which would enable you to transfer those points.
I am sorry if this is a dumb question but I legitimately have a learning disorder when it comes to math. Does this mean that I can buy a $1,000 ebay gift card for about $900, and then buy ten of those $100 ExxonMobil gift cards for $90, effectively saving me about 20% on gas?

Nope.
Ebay does not allow you to pay for gift cards with gift cards.
What you COULD do is simply buy the $1000 in gas cards for $900, paying with your Chase Freedom via Paypal, and you'd get 5x UR points for your $900 in spend since paypal is one of the bonus categories this quarter... which is 4500 points.
Which is $45 taken as cash, or potentially $67.50 toward travel at the lowest end with a CSR (higher with partner transfers).

learned quite a bit from your posts with the guy who cant do math. ive been sitting on quite a bit of chase points for years but still no CSR or the likes to transfer them to. if i start seriously thinking about some travel...i guess i'll start with CSR

Same lol. I'm glad he was arguing with no math guy. I travel every year and feel like no math guy myself for not having CSR card.
How long after I apply for the CSR card will I be able to xfer my free saphire points to it and use it to book a flight? Was going to buy a ticket next week, can apply for CSR card tomorrow, 820 credit score, thanks

If you already have a chase card and an online chase account it should be pretty much right after you are approved- the CSR should show up in your same online account, and you'll be able to do the point transfers as soon as that's the case (even before you physically have the card).
When I book a Marriott thru the UR portal using points, I do not earn Marriott points because Marriott treats it the same as any other 3rd party booking which is not eligible to earn points. It's still better than transferring UR points to Marriott, which as a previous poster mentioned, is never a good use of UR points.
Just booked TEN Marriott category II(4 star) hotels 10000/per night refundable (cash price $115 plus tax or Chase portal 920 points plus tax non refundable or 10250 points plus tax. refundable).
totally understand your theory math BUT most people just need CAT II or Cat III not CAT 4,5.
Hard core SDers should learn how to play and rebalance points for paying Chase CC and Amer CC.
Have a nice vacation!
Did you try to book it via priceline? I am sure you can get lower than $115.

Already got AMEX Platinum Card ( CSR just copy it) 40 months ago know better than most of people...
I am elite gold(Marriott) and platinum(IHG) number, if you book using the Chase portal maybe lost hotel free Happy hour( 5pm to 10pm) in their lounge( $40-$70/ night offer wine including another guest ).not eligible for free upgrades to enhanced/suite rooms/early check in /4pm late checkout.
I only need Cat 2 hotels on my worldwide multi- city itinerary(4 stars).
Book with Marriott app(Hongkong/Japan/China/Cancun/Geneva...) hotels 10000 points/per night no tax refundable (cash price $136 plus $21.6 tax)
OR Chase portal(use CSP1.25) 930-10000 points plus $21.5tax non refundable or 12500-13748 points plus $21.5tax refundable.
Just using IHG points with part cash(very fair rates) in rural.
300k Marriott points can book using for 30 nights 4 stars hotels with all VIP benefits for free.
Theory math is only beautiful.... not a beautiful shot
Already got AMEX Platinum Card ( CSR just copy it) 40 months ago know better than most of people...
... what?
The CSR is hardly a "copy"- it's simply a better card for most
$100/yr lower annual fee
Larger, more useful, travel credit... ($300 toward anything travel related, vs $200 for very limited things with a single airline)
Vastly better guest policy with the PP membership... (unlimited guests vs only 2)
Primary rental car insurance for free (vs $25 per rental with amex)
Price protection up to $500 per item (benefit not even offered by Amex)
Broader, more useful, bonus categories (3x on all travel and restaurants, vs 5x on direct hotel/air bookings and nothing else with amex)
50% higher point redemption using the travel portal (vs exactly the same value on points with Platinum vs other amex cards)
Not that the platinum card doesn't have value- it can, but it's a LOT narrower for most folks (especially if you don't happen to live one of the 7 places that have a centurion lounge and/or don't use Uber every month).

So 2 days ago it was $115 a night plus tax. Now it's $136 plus tax. (mind you, 115 plus the tax you claim IS 136.... maybe that's where you appear to have, again, screwed up on your math?)
You just can't seem to keep your story straight can you?

And here again you appear to be changing your own claimed #s after I tore the previous ones apart with math...do you not recall just a couple days ago when you claimed your 10k/night (with marriot points) rooms were $115 a night, and it was 9200 points and 10250 points on Chase?
Here- let me remind you.

And doing so by transferring UR to IHG will always produce vastly lower values than using the portal (or hell, lower than just paying cash and using UR for statement credits)
Because UR points are worth 1 cent each as cash and IHG points are worth about 0.5-0.6 cents usually.
So you're spending 1 cent to save 0.6 cents. (or spending at least 1.5 cents to save 0.6 cents if you had the CSR)
Math! try it sometime!

Wait... you just told us 10k/night was class 1-2 hotels.
Now you're booking "4 star" Marriotts for that rate?
Which hotels, specifically, for what dates, are you making these claims about?
But I've actually stayed at some of Marriots higher end properties in some of the cities you mention (Cancun just a few months ago in fact), they sure weren't only 10k Marriott points a night...

Same $450 annual fee when AMEX Platinum Card card was launched until 2016 when CSR appeared(star to copy) you don't know...!
Many CAT 2 10k/night 4 stars Marroit hotel, CAT 1 7500/night 3 star can find metropolis area in China and HongKong/ Japan...
same hotel $115 plus tax on Marroit app, $136 plus tax on Chase reward portal.... LOL
Marriott VIP benefits value more than $100 or $200 for Family/per day.
Enjoy your math as well as Chase portal with your $450 CSR. Jamie Dimon deeply appreciated your friends and you for sure

The Platinum card is a $550 annual fee.
Folks whose fee renewed early enough last year haven't seen the new fee yet though.
Looks like you've got yet another math surprise coming soon
