Is this a good buy? I picked up 3 of these for 169 from Walmart a few months ago.
Close out price, which a small percentage of the population knew about or had access to as it was a YMMV. Having said that, no $279 is not a great price as it was availability from Costco.com for $275 five months ago with $25 coupon and $210 from Fry's in Jan for a few days.( Which I took advantage of) Yes there is no go back machine, but this TV might get lower. Or consider the 43" TCL 5 series from Best Buy for $350. It adds a lot over this Samsung Inc. Dolby Vision, WCG plus 3" of screen.
Rting.com would completely disagree. In fact, of all the options for use, this screen's highest rating is as a PC monitor. I also purchased two screens during that YMMV clearance sale at Walmart. I had to drive about 65 miles to get them, but am extremely happy with the performance. It should be said, as mentioned earlier, that the sale for 169 was an insane deal. Definitely not the standard by any measure. However, I wouldn't have purchased the TV if it was at this price point.
