1060 will get higher synthetic scores on most titles. Period. nVidia wins this, but not by much. Actual in-game experience on either card at 1080p is pretty damn similar.
Both cards are targeted at 1080 gaming. A 1060 6GB is not a 1070; don't buy one to play 1440p 1440hz. Looking to watch videos at 1440p or 4k? Pretty much any 1XXX or 5XX series card from either team will do. Both cards can drive dual displays without issue. Both cards can drive 4k monitors for media consumption without issue. Neither card is meant for 1440p or higher gaming (even if you can get 60fps with all the details turn down... what's the point?)
6gb vs 4gb is negligible at 1080p. Barely any current games will be trying to consume more than 3 or 4gb of vram; and if they are, that means you need to turn down some graphics options to play at acceptable framerates. Sorry, if you want more FPS, buy a higher end card.
FreeSync is MUCH cheaper and nearly as good as G-Sync for full-screen gaming. Buying a FreeSync monitor is hundreds of $ cheaper... AMD wins this category by a ton.
If you're playing on a monitor without adaptive sync... it's life changing to upgrade. Make room in your budget for a new monitor.\
If you're thinking of playing with v-sync turned on... uninstall Windows and go back to console gaming. (I keed I keed)
I'm seriously debating picking one up for the wife... but the new crop of GPU's are a couple months out. I'll wait for a SUPER slick deal... or save up for a 1180 and give the wife my 1070.

Completely false. Pny isn't the most sought after name brand but their cards are just fine. So you put a graphics card on a custom loop and died. Hmmm.... Yeah blame the card. Lol

This vs Pny GeForce gtx 1060 6gb ? Which one better ?
Depends on the games. Some run better on Nvdia, some on AMD. If This was the 8GB version, then without a doubt would be the better buy. However, this 580 unfortunately has only 4GB of ram, but can in fact take advantage of the newer Vulkan api architecture. In fact, some games have significant performance improvements after being updated for Vulkan support. One famous example is DOOM. So its really a matter of games preference.

The page says 4GB of RAM, not 8 GB. 1060 w/6GB might be more future proof.

Depends, do you have a Freesync or Gsync monitor? Freesync monitors are much cheaper and IMO if you get the 580 and snag a Freesync monitor you will be in great shape.

Yes, my bad. Edited my comments to reflect on that.
It has become harder to mine. ASIC will be hard forked. Good luck if you did order some shit from Bitmain. Your stuff might be crap in a few weeks.
