just chiming in here with my personal experience: have owned about 9/10 different anker cables, and the quality is always fantastic. of them, only 2 ever experienced issues. 1 was because a connection frayed because of the constant bending required due to my outlet position. the other stopped working after an iOS update, which rendered it an "incompatible accessory". In both cases, it was a quick email to customer service, and I had a new cable in hand in a couple of days.

in short, quality and CS are both great, in my experience.
You could've bought 5 Dynex cables from Best Buy. I have some over a year old and still strong. Out of 10, only one messed up and Best Buy replaced it.
I've also had great customer service from Anker. I've owned dozens of their cables, lightening, micro USB and USB C. I've only ever had 2 go bad. And I, personally, did not have to send them back. One they had me cut in half and send a picture of it. The other I didn't have to do anything, they just sent a new one.

What do they mean by hassle free lifetime warranty? Do they cover normal wear and tear?

Anker's service is absolutely fantastic! Their warranty is the best. With that said, I've had quite a few of their iPhone cables stop working. The Apple cables really are the most durable and I'm not at all sure why. I think the actual contacts on the connector are a point of failure on the Anker cables. The cable itself is great.

Did you have to send back the broken cables?

I'd like to know more about the lifetime warranty, does it cover a 5 year old boy connecting and disconnecting the cable? I've replaced 3 cables so far this year

Is it covered by their 'hassle-free warranty' if I use it to tow my car as shown in their video?
